Enjoy your travel experience in the beautiful land of Incas as you learn about Cusco’s history, the mixture city of colonial and Inca architecture. Travel to the religious center of the Incas “Machu Picchu” and admire the incredible scenery from the top of Huayna Picchu Mountain.
Destinations: Cusco, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu
Upon your arrival to Cusco, you will be greeted by one of our staff members at the airport and transferred to the hotel. You will have free morning to rest or to get acclimate to the altitude.
Around noon, you will start a guided walking tour in the downtown of Cusco. You will be able to observe the mixture of Andean and Spanish cultures. You will walk around the Main Square to see some of the Catholic churches. Also some of the unique Inca streets and Qoricancha, the great Sun Temple. To finish the walking tour the guide will also take you to a local market called San Pedro.
In the morning the transfer will pick you up and you will be taken to the train station in Poroy. Then you will enjoy 3 ½ hour scenic train ride to Aguas Calientes (expedition class).
Upon your arrival to the town of Aguas Calientes station, you will board the bus and ride up toward the entrance of Machupicchu. Our expert guide will lead you through the main streets of these amazing ruins. You will be able to stroll through town squares and walk the delicately carved stone stairways. Machu Picchu has become known as the new spiritual center of the world.
After the guided tour, you will have some free time to admire the site before you leave it. At the schedule time, you will take bus back to Aguas Calientes where you will spend the night. This town is very nice and some people usually go to the Hot-spring.
We will have an early start from the hotel. There will be a short bus ride (25 minutes) up to the citadel of Machu Picchu. You will enjoy the magnificent sunrise at Machu Picchu and feel all the magical energies of this great site.
We will hike to Huayna Picchu Mountain and discover the astounding scenery. From the top of Huayna Picchu Mountain you will be able to observe the immensity of Machu Picchu ruins.
The climb is not technical, but it is not considered a beginner’s level. It’s quite strenuous and steep hike, with rock-hopping over large borders. When you return back from Huayna Picchu, you will have free time to rest and get back to Aguas Calientes.
Train back to Cusco: In the afternoon you will return to the train station in Aguas Calientes by bus. Then you take the train to trip back to Cusco (expedition or Vista dome class). Upon your arrival to Cusco you will be transferred to your hotel. The second day visit to Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu tour and guide not included).
We will pick you up from the hotel at the scheduled time to transport you to Cusco airport and then flight to Lima. End of Machu Picchu travel.
