Itinerary
Detailed itinerary of Chonta Condor sighting
Day 1: Cusco – Chonta – lookout of Hahuacco
In the morning at 7:00 am travelers will be picked up from their hotels in Cusco. We then start traveling in our private transport through a picturesque scenery. After driving by Anta Pampa we will head to a great spot. Which is the lookout for Mt Salkantay, and Tarawasi Valley. Then we drive to the Valley of Limatambo. From here we will continue driving uphill on the dirty road towards to the community of Chonta (3,400 m).
After 1 ½ hours of hiking (moderate difficulty) we will reach the lookout of Hahuacco. Which has spectacular views of the Chonta canyon and Vilcabamaba mountain range. At this point we will be able to spot over dozens of the Condors soaring in their natural habitat. The Condor flight usually happens in the afternoon. After to enjoy our Condor Sighting activity we walk back to Chonta for 1 ½ hours until to arrive to the campsite.

Day 2: Chonta – Tarawasi – Cusco.
Our chef will wake you up with a cup of Coca tea in your tent. After you get up, there will be time to pack all our equipment. After to enjoy a delicious breakfast served by our chef is time to leave Chonta. There will be one hour drive down to Limatambo Valley to explore the beautiful Inca site of Tarawasi. The guide will transmit us more of the Inca history of this lovely place. To finish our Chonta Condor sighting tour we will drive for 2 hours to arrive back in Cusco hotel.
