7 Lakes Peru horse riding tour – Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Tinke – 7 Lakes – Cusco.

Our day trip will start at 4:00 am. We will pick you up from your hotel and then take a 3-hour car drive towards Pacchanta. This place is located at 4200m/ 13500ft. above sea level. On the way to Pacchanta you will pass by the Tinke village, where you can buy last minute snacks. During this trip you can expect changes of temperatures from cold to hot or vice versa, so you need to be prepared for it.

Once in Pacchanta we will have a hot breakfast, after breakfast and a small break, we will ride our horses and head up to the beautiful hills in the proximity of Ausangate Mountain.

The horseback ride will be about 2 hours and will take you along foothills of Ausangate. During the ride, we will see the different lakes like Azulcocha, Otorongo, Pucacocha, Alqacocha y Q’omercocha. That’s not the only highlight; we will also view the snow-covered peaks that surround this area. These include Ausangate (6834 m.), Butterfly (5842 m.), Jampa (5500 m.), Pucapunta (5740 m), Caracol or Snail Mountain (5625 m.), Tinke (5300 m.) and the whole Qayangate mountains.

Along the path we will have the chance to see the local flora and fauna. From different kinds of birds to chinchillas and Alpacas. The views are breathtaking, and you will have the chance to visit all of the different lakes as you return along the same pathway. After a day horseback adventure, we will return to Pacchanta again, which takes about 1.5 hours. Once you get to the trailhead, we will have a delicious lunch.
After lunch we will board our transport then drive back to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel.

Singrenacocha Lake tour – Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Tinke – Singrenacocha Lake – Cusco.

To start this awesome day tour, the guide will meet you at the hotel in Cusco at 6:00am. Then following the road to Puerto Maldonado, you start driving with direction to the south east of Cusco. Along the way there will be amazing views of the mountain as the popular Ausangate, which is the tallest glacier in the area of Cusco. Also you will pass some little Andean villages, observing some colorful local people, who live in the area.

Around 9 am you will arrive to the trail-head at Yanamarca, where you will start the short hike to Singrenacocha Lake, which ismainly down-hill. Once we arrive to the shore of the lake there will be stunning views of Singrenacocha and the glaciers located above the lake; if you are lucky, you will spot some animals of the place as the chinchillas, Andean Geese and herds of Alpacas.

The area of Singrenacocha is home to some of the Quechuas in the Peruvian Andes, so you will have a chance to interact with them. After to explore the lake and the stone forest, we will come back to Yanamarca where they have an interpretation center; for a little exhibition of varieties of potatoes, medical plants and traditional clothing of this region

Afterwards we will have a time to eat our box lunch and enjoy our snacks, then you will have the final moment of relaxation, before we embark on the return trip to Cusco. The final drive back to Cusco is about 3 hours, then we will drop you off at your hotel.

Then you start hiking to Salkantay Lake following a picturesque trail opened by the villagers, as you go around the first hill amazing views of tall Mountains will show up. Also you will be able to observe nice Andean valleys and beautiful rock formations.

Some hours of up-hill hike will let you to arrive at this exceptional destination in Cusco “Salkantay Lake”. Due to its close proximity to Mt Salkantay, this is just a spectacular place, you will be very close to the ice-glacier of Salkantay while enjoying the fantastic views of this fascinating Lake. You will also see the famous pass called Inkachiriaska, the highest point for the Inca Trail expedition hikers. After you have a great moment around this sacred Lake and Mt Salkantay itself. Waqrapukara Cusco tour- Overview

• Day 1.- Cusco – Acommayo – Huayki– Waqrapukara

Day 1: Cusco – Huayqui village – Waqrapukara campsite.

We leave the hotel in Cusco and then drive for 2 hours until to reach Lake Pomacanchi. A place with native fauna and houses of the local people. We then continue to Acomayo, the major town in this area. So we stop here to buy any last minute supplies or drinks. Immediately our driver will take us to the village of Huayqui (3296 m). Where we start the Waqrapukara Cusco tour.

At the beginning the trail goes up-hill. But you will be surprised by the rock formations and the scenery of Apurimac River. As soon as you get higher up, you will reach the sector of Llamapintana. A great cave with interesting pre-Inca Llama paintings in side. Finally you will reach the camping area of Waqrapukara. Where you will have a delicious lunch. In the afternoon there will be a free time. So you can explore the area on your own.

Qeswachaka Inca Bridge – Itinerary

Day 1.- Cusco – Yanaoca – Qeswachaka – Cusco

In the morning, we will meet you at you hotel in Cusco around 4:00 am. We will begin the two and a half hour drive towards Marcaconga village. On the way we will stop at district of Pomacanchi, where we will have breakfast. Then you have a drive to the province of Acomayo. Along the way you will stop and visit some of the lakes as Pomacanchi, Acopia, Asnacqocha and Pampamarca. Around those lakes you will observe many difierent activities such as fishing, farming and cattle. Also will be possible to observe different species of flora and fauna typical of this region.

After to pass by the lakes, you will travel to the province of Canas. Then finally, You will reach the dreamed destination, which is the Qeswachaka Inca Bridge (3,700 masl / 12,139 feet). It measures 33 m long and 1.20 m wide. This bridge is totally active, because every year is renewed by hand using the mountain grass called ichu. Four communities in the area are in-charged to renew  this bridge annually. With the previous ceremony to be thankful with Pachamama, before they start working on it.

You will have the chance to walk across the hanging bridge as the Quechuas still do. This will be a very unique experience. While walking on this awesome rope bridge over the Apurimac river. You will take great pictures of the authentic panorama.

After you visited this spectacular place, you will finish with the tour returning to Cusco and we will drop you off at your hotel.

Waqrapukara Trek – Itinerary

Day 1.- Cusco – Marcaconga – Waqrapukara – Cusco

In the morning, we will meet you at your hotel in Cusco around 3:30 am. We will begin the two and a half hour drive towards Marcaconga village. On the way we will stop at district of Pomacanchi, where we will have breakfast.

After breakfast, we will have thirty minutes of driving along a beautiful terrain, unpaved road, until we reach the end of the road. Here we will have some minutes to stretch, get essential things, and make any final preparation before trek. We will walk across gently undulating land for about two hours. Observing formidable landscapes combined with small mountain lakes along the way.

Once we arrive at the lookout of Waqrapukara. We will stop for some minutes. So this is our opportunity to enjoy the views and take photos of this incredible ruins. Perched above the Apurimac canyon in a rugged area. Afterwards there will a descend for about forty minutes along a steep hill-side trail, into the site itself. At your arrival to this spectacular site you will be surprised with mind-blowing views of the canyon below it, great scenery of natural formations in the whole area.

We will have time walk around and explore the formidable Inca ruins for approximately an hour and a half. So we have chance to discover all the great structures of this amazing and formidable site. Taking photos with background of the canyon scenery. Resting on clifftops in the shadows of the Inca walls. When everybody is ready, we will start the descent back-down the way we came. We will reach the trail-head after about three hours of hiking. Then we drive back to Cusco, arriving around 6:00 pm. Humantay Lake tour – Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Mollepata – Lake Humantay – Cusco.

The guide will meet you at your hotel in Cusco at 4:30am. Then you will have a drive for 2 hours to the town of Mollepata. Here you will have a short stop for breakfast, in a local restaurant  and then you follow a dirt road for 1 hour to arrive to Soraypampa. At the bus parking place, we begin the trek uphill to the famous Lake Humantay.

We hike along a beautiful path which is part of Salkantay trail, mainly uphill. After a short hike you will see a tiny village, where Salkantay trekkers camp, we continue hiking for another hour and a half, ascending 1,250 feet in  3 km up a steep path. After to walk across the last moraine, the Humantay Lake will show up with its beautiful turquoise color. This Lake contains the water melting from the impressive Humantay snow-capped Mountain.

Along the way to Lake Humantay there will be great views of Salkantay Peak, one of Cusco’s tallest mountains, towering 20,600 feet. very respected and venerated by local people. The equally stunning Humantay Mountain, rising 19,400 feet, is also visible most of the time.   Once we reach the lake-shore, we will have a relaxing moment, enjoying our snacks, and walk around this magical place. After an awesome moment in the shores of Humantay Lake, you will walk back down, we will descend to the parking place at Soraypampa. Then you have one hour drive back to the lunch place. Detailed itinerary of Chonta Condor sighting

Day 1: Cusco – Chonta – lookout of Hahuacco

In the morning at 7:00 am travelers will be picked up from their hotels in Cusco.  We then start traveling in our private transport through a picturesque scenery. After driving by Anta Pampa we will head to a great spot. Which is the lookout for Mt Salkantay, and Tarawasi Valley. Then we drive to the Valley of Limatambo. From here we will continue driving uphill on the dirty road towards to the community of Chonta (3,400 m).

After 1 ½ hours of hiking (moderate difficulty) we will reach the lookout of Hahuacco. Which has spectacular views of the Chonta canyon and Vilcabamaba mountain range. At this point we will be able to spot over dozens of the Condors soaring in their natural habitat. The Condor flight usually happens in the afternoon. After to enjoy our Condor Sighting activity we walk back to Chonta for 1 ½ hours until to arrive to the campsite.

Our chef will wake you up with a cup of Coca tea in your tent. After you get up, there will be time to pack all our equipment. From Limatambo, we will follow a narrow dirt road with direction to Chonta community (3,400 m). We then have a moderate hike for 1 ½ hour to reach out the lookout of Condors. There will be great views of the Apurimac canyon and Vilcabamba mountain range. With a little bit of luck we will spot some of the Condors overflying the canyon.

This part of the valley is filled with crops that dress the mountains like carpets.  We will continue our Sacred Valley tour visiting the ruins of Pisac.  where our guide will transmit us the history of this impressive Inca ruins on the mountain top, we will also have a short stop at the  Pisac market, afterwards we drive down to Urubamba, a picturesque town with nice climate. here you will have a nice lunch.
