This spectacular Qeswachaka rope Bridge goes across on the popular Apurimac river. In Inca times it was part of the extended network called Qhapaq Ñan or Inca roads. In the present day this bridge is mainly used to transport goods to the different communities. But also is gaining interest of some travelers and it is usually combined with Waqrapukara trek.

Itinerary
Qeswachaka Inca Bridge – Itinerary
Day 1.- Cusco – Yanaoca – Qeswachaka – Cusco
In the morning, we will meet you at you hotel in Cusco around 4:00 am. We will begin the two and a half hour drive towards Marcaconga village. On the way we will stop at district of Pomacanchi, where we will have breakfast. Then you have a drive to the province of Acomayo. Along the way you will stop and visit some of the lakes as Pomacanchi, Acopia, Asnacqocha and Pampamarca. Around those lakes you will observe many difierent activities such as fishing, farming and cattle. Also will be possible to observe different species of flora and fauna typical of this region.
After to pass by the lakes, you will travel to the province of Canas. Then finally, You will reach the dreamed destination, which is the Qeswachaka Inca Bridge (3,700 masl / 12,139 feet). It measures 33 m long and 1.20 m wide. This bridge is totally active, because every year is renewed by hand using the mountain grass called ichu. Four communities in the area are in-charged to renew this bridge annually. With the previous ceremony to be thankful with Pachamama, before they start working on it.
You will have the chance to walk across the hanging bridge as the Quechuas still do. This will be a very unique experience. Which usually needs a special courage. You will take great pictures of the authentic panorama.
After you visited the place, you will finish with the tour returning to Cusco and we will drop you off at your hotel.
