Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by one of our representatives at the airport and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free so you can rest to get acclimated to the altitude.
In the afternoon, you will be part of a guided walking tour to the downtown of Cusco. You will be able to observe the mixture of Andean and Spanish cultures. We will walk around the main square to see the Catholic churches, some of the beautiful Inca streets, and Qoricancha the sun temple. You will be able to experience the biggest local market called San Pedro. The visit to all those places help you to understand the meaning of this wonderful Inca civilization in South America.
Hotel in Cusco:
In the morning you will be picked up from the hotel in a private car. We will drive twenty minutes to Tambomachay (the water ceremonial fountain), after visiting this wonderful site, we will continue on to Puca-Pucara, Qenqo, Sacsayhuaman the biggest Inca temple outside of Cusco. As we arrive into the city, we will visit the Cathedral. This is the most impressive Catholic Church in South America.
After we pick you up from the hotel, we will drive toward the Sacred Valley of the Incas, taking the direct route to Pisac. On the way, we will visit the weaving center of Awana Cancha where we will have free time to interact with the local craftsmen and to purchase their hand-made textiles. We will stop at the Mirador of Taray to take in the view of the Urubamba valley.
The valley has crops that dress the mountains like carpets. We will continue to the town of Pisac to visit a fantastic local Market (optional to visit the Inca ruin of Pisac). Afterward, we will continue to the town of Urubamba to enjoy a buffet lunch.
After lunch we will visit Ollantaytambo, an attractive town of Incan origin with remarkable water channels and stone streets. There is an impressive ceremonial center that pays homage to the water and a fortress that guarded the access to the interior part of the valley. In the evening you will take the train to Aguas Calientes town.
After breakfast you will board the bus which will take us to the biggest energetic center of the Incas, “Machu Picchu”. A professional tour guide will teach us about all the history of this mysterious and mystical place. We will visit the Sun Temple, Royal palace, Main Temple, Three Windows Temple and Sun Dial. It will be an unforgettable experience. After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore on your own. Afterward, we begin the journey back to Cusco city.
In the morning at the appropriate time, we will pick you up from the hotel and transport you to the airport in Cusco.
